LUCIA – Lighting the Baltic Sea Region, Cities accelerate the deployment of sustainable and smart urban lighting solutions

The project LUCIA provides solutions on energy efficiency for urban lighting in the Baltic Sea region. The project includes aspects of environmental friendly urban lightning, research of state of the art technolgy, business models and questions of social acceptance.

With the support of LUCIA, energy efficient lighting solutions will be implemented and tested at six pilot sites in Tallinn (EE), Porvoo (FI), Jurmala (LV), Albertslund (DK), Hamburg (DE) and St. Petersburg (RU). The results of the project and the experience of piloting investments are highlighted.

The lead partner is the City of Hamburg district of Altona. Posintra is one of the project partners. Other project partners are the cities of Albertslund, Goteborg, Jurmala, Porvoo and Tallinn, Tallinn University of Technology, Riga Regional Planning Office, Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University and the Copenhagen Gate21. In addition, the project has a wide range of cooperation partners.

The project LUCIA is financed by Interreg Baltic Sea Region programme. The overall budget is 2,79 million euros, Posintra’s budget is 258.320 euros. The implementation time of the project is 1.1.2019 – 30.6.2021. More information about the project can be found from LUCIA homepage.
