The energy efficiency of industry can be further improved. In spring 2019, an open competition, HUIMA – New ideas for energy efficiency in industry, will be held to find inspirational ideas and innovative solutions for the utilization of industrial waste energy. Companies, associations, communities and private individuals can participate in the competition. The best ideas will be accepted for implementation, whereby they will be worked on with view to finding development paths for new business.
The competition is used to find new products or service packages, as well as new innovative solutions which enable cost savings or improved profitability. The competition seeks to highlight the substantial energy and carbon dioxide volumes that are currently untapped by the process industry or end up being emitted into the environment, and to look for new ways to exploit surplus heat, for example. The aim is to bring together different industries and energy efficiency operators to jointly bring about improvements in energy efficiency. Thanks to the measures undertaken within the project, new long-term business opportunities will be created in the environmental technology solutions sector. You can keep track of current issues in Huima competition on our website posintra.fi/huima.
The main sponsor of the project is the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The project will be executed between 1 September 2018 and 31 August 2020. The project partner is Turku Science Park Oy.
